Lartigue se apropió de la fotografía como medio para atrapar su propio asombro, como medio donde guardar sus memorias y para captar breves instantes felices que testimoniasen la fragilidad de la existencia humana. Sus trabajos testimonian las rápidas y radicales transformaciones sociales del siglo XX y la entrada de la mujer en el mundo laboral fuera del hogar con gran sensibilidad.

Lartigue appropriated photography as a means to catch his own amazement, as a means to store his memories and to capture brief happy moments that would witness fragility of human existence. His works testify the rapid and radical social changes of the twentieth century and the entrance of women into the workforce outside the home with great sensitivity.
